Tortilla de patatas

I love tortilla de patatas (even more after visiting Barcelona) and I was thinking, it can't be that difficult to cook it at home! So I started to search the recipes and of course, as always, there were thousands of them on the internet. So I created a combination, which surprisingly worked really well and we finished the tortilla in 2 days!! (2 people!). Try it, is really easy and tasty!! You will need a round frying pan which can stay in the oven (with metallic handle).

Ingredients:

  • 8 eggs (preferably bio quality)
  • 2 onions (middle size)
  • 8 potatoes (middle size)
  • butter (50 g)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 dl milk

Directions:

First of all, take a frying pan and melt down the butter. I know it seems to be a lot (especially for people trying to have a healty diet), but it is the butter which will creat the nice taste. When its heated, you can add chopped onions and fry it for a while. In the meanwhile, peel the potates and cut them into very small and thin pieces (triangles). When onion is fried, add potatoes and fry them for quite a while (until they are soft, around 15 min). You can cover the frying pan, while you are frying the potatoes. Break the eggs, add salt and pepper and milk and whisk it properly. When the potates are soft, add the egg mixture and put it in the oven for another 30 min (or until the eggs are cooked) at 180 °C and thats it! Your tortilla is ready! :) Enjoy!
